And I love the wear of the centuries on the choir steps. Wonder how many feet have trod them over the years!
Looking at those pictures makes me want to read "The Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett again.

I've never been to York Minster, sadly. It looks absolutely gorgeous and I love the bottom picture.
I also love visiting cathedrals and churches so York Minster has to be on my to-do list some day!
Oh, you would sooooo enjoy York! A magical place. The center of town, surrounding the Minster, is full of great shops. When we first arrived there, I saw a border collie. I knew I was home.
I appreciated the Minster's openness to photography - not all allow it, with good reason, I suppose. St. Sulpice, in Paris, was the only other stop where I could go wild with my camera.
The bottom pic might be my all-time fav. Glad you like it also!
