Oh, no. We can't be finished yet. Our 'self discovery process' simply would not be complete without the Luscher Color Test. Mr. Rogers might want to hide in a closet: This one delves into our deepest emotions and motivations.
My college piano professor got me hooked. I bought into it, and then bought the book. With it came 8 colored cards...rectangles with round corners...not too glossy...felt good in the hand -- these things count a lot with me. I took the test. It nailed me.
No heavy instructions are needed, nor does it ask for a commitment of a chunk of test-taking time. You simply put them in order of preference, from first to last, taking only into account the look of the color and its appeal -- not whether you'd like to wear it or anything like that. It's so simple -- but much much research went into it, and many many variables were addressed and considered.
Y'all might want to give it a try. If it's not your cup of tea, then stop by my house and I'll pull out my Martha Stewart 4x8 paint chips from her 'Araucana collection'. We'll deal them out, make up something that seems a plausible meaning for each...to our liking, of course. And then proceed directly to cocktails.

You've already sucked me in on enough of these touchy-feely warm fuzzies. I'll be more than happy to stop by for cocktails, achoral CD or two, and good conversation, but for heaven's sake leave that criminal Martha out of it!

wow, that's a little scary, actually. It gives you the code for posting onto your blog, but I opted not to share my results. Hmmm.
Okay, so I took the test; I felt I needed to seriously consider the suggestion of a good friend. And I didn't want any more exposure to the diva of design than absolutely necessary. You should have mentioned that the test takes less than five minutes to finish - unlike that DNA monster that just won't quit. Took longer to read the results of this one than it did to take the test.
Gotta agree with Robyn, this puppy is a bit scary. "Urgently in need of rest, relaxation, peace." Sound like anyone you know?
I can't say it "nailed" me, but it wasn't too far off the mark. Perhaps I'll try it again when I've found some of that "relaxation" stuff it mentioned. Think it'll change?
Yeah...in this form, it's a bit disturbing, I think. Definitely different in tone than what I remember it to be. I chose to not publish my results either!
I notice that the Luscher site doesn't 'support' the others. They require you buy materials...which makes sense. Colors show up differently on computers.
I found my results a little depressing. I'll blame the colors on my monitor for the results (I'd say they would have been accurate 2 years ago...does that mean I'm still living in the past? Yikes!)
MM, I am so very sure you are not living in the past!
Well, this is leaving a bad taste all around. Now I propose that we drop the quietly comforting Araucana collection in favor of fondling her perky Colors of the Garden paint swatches.
Be careful not to spill any tequilla on them...
